Editorial Policy

At Hawthorne Driving Traffic School, accuracy and clarity come first. These are the standards every article on our site follows.

Who Writes Our Stories

Our articles are researched, written, and edited by the Hawthorne Driving Traffic School editorial team. Stories are published under the byline “Hawthorne Driving Traffic School Staff,” and every article is reviewed by a second team member before it goes live.

Sourcing

We base our reporting on primary and official sources: state legislature websites, bill texts, DMV and DOT announcements, court records, and official police statements. When we use information reported by other news outlets, we credit and link to them.

Accuracy on Laws

For every law we cover, we aim to include:

  • The bill or law number
  • The date it takes effect
  • The state or states it applies to
  • Any fines, points, or penalties involved
  • A link to the official source

Headlines

Our headlines describe what the article actually says. We do not use misleading, exaggerated, or sensational headlines.

Fact-Checking

Before publishing, facts, dates, and numbers are checked against the original source. If we cannot confirm a detail from a reliable source, we leave it out or clearly say it is unconfirmed.

Updates

Traffic laws and road conditions change. When we update an article with new information, we show the “Updated” date at the top of the article.

Corrections

If we make a mistake, we fix it and, for factual errors, add a note explaining what changed. Read our Corrections Policy for details.

Independence

Our editorial content is not influenced by advertisers or sponsors. Any sponsored content will be clearly labeled as “Sponsored.”

Use of AI Tools

We may use digital tools to assist with research or drafting, but every article is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by our editorial team before it is published.

Not Legal Advice

Our coverage explains traffic laws for general information. It is not legal advice. See our Disclaimer.
