At Hawthorne Driving Traffic School, we are committed to publishing accurate information. When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and openly.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Our editorial team checks facts, dates, fines, and law details against official sources before publishing. Still, mistakes can happen, and traffic laws can change after an article is published. When that happens, we take responsibility and fix it.
How to Report an Error
If you believe an article contains an error, please contact us:
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: Visit our Contact Us page and select “Correction Request”
To help us review your request quickly, please include:
- The link to the article
- The specific information you believe is incorrect
- The correct information, with a link to an official source if possible
How We Review Corrections
Our editorial team reviews every correction request, usually within 48 hours. We verify the information against official sources such as state legislatures, DMVs, Departments of Transportation, or courts before making any change.
Types of Corrections
- Minor fixes: Spelling, grammar, or formatting errors that do not change the meaning of the article are fixed without a note.
- Factual corrections: Errors in dates, fines, penalties, law numbers, names, or other facts are corrected, and a correction note is added at the end of the article.
- Clarifications: If an article was accurate but could be misunderstood, we update the wording and add a clarification note.
- Major errors: If an article is substantially wrong, we will rewrite it or remove it, and explain the change.
How Corrections Appear
Factual corrections are noted at the bottom of the article in this format:
Correction (Month Day, Year): An earlier version of this article stated [incorrect information]. The correct information is [correct information].
Updates vs. Corrections
When a law or traffic situation changes after we publish, we update the article with the new information and show the “Updated” date at the top. This is an update, not a correction, because the original information was accurate at the time of publishing.
